Customs Hints for the Balikabayan Box
Balikbayan boxes and other parcels that you send to your Philippine relatives or for your personal needs with our cargo service are subject to various regulations. There are export regulations of the Federal Republic of Germany,if you are not living in the Federal Republic of Germany the regulations of your homeland, and the import regulations of the Republic of the Philippines. Additionally there are regulations of the Philippine authorities for supplies sent by abroad living citizen or former Philippine citizen (Balikbayan), if you send without commercial intent.
The following goods (at least) are not allowed in a Balikbayan Box:
- living animals and plants
- money, cash equivalent and papers like shares, security papers etc.
- spirituous beverages and perfume
- gasoline, colors, lacquers, solvents and combustible liquids
- acids, car batteries
- easy perishable food
- human organs
- illegal medicines and drugs
- pistols, guns, other weapons, ammunition, explosives
- chemicals, radioactive materials
- trading goods (commodities) *
* Goods are considered to be commodiites if a package contains twelve or more items of the same kind. In this case the entire package will be examinated. This means at least a time delay and additional costs, which we must pass on to you. Address us, if you are not sure.
